What They Taught Us In Kindergarten

Remember what they taught us in kindergarten?

The most basic lesson even a child of any age would comprehend:
PUT THINGS BACK WHERE YOU FOUND THEM.
DO NOT TAKE WHAT IS NOT YOURS.
ASK PERMISSION.
RESPECT OTHERS.

No matter how many times you try to help someone learn his ways and explain things, a person of no set values, principles, ethics, and no concept of respect will never learn.
The fool will continually be arrogant and stubborn; refusing to accept his fault and see himself as the helpless victim.

It is not about a material thing. It is not about the value of an object--it's about ethics--about being sensitive enough and respectful of others' belongings and not doing the same thing over and over again.

Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Carry yourself in a way that people will respect you.
Deal with your affairs without having to tread on others.

  1. I've come across this book a few times already and just realized a few days ago that this totally complies with what Carrie Lupoli "Chief Mom" has been sharing. Playing is not just for entertainment for kids. It's real work. It's learning and preparing them for the future on how they deal with things and how they will survive out in the real world when they grow up :-) its these little lessons during childhood that will teach them how to behave well when they're on their own :-) galing!!!:-) thanks for sharing Mommy Jeanne!:-)

  2. That is so true. Teaching our kids to be independent in the future by "Play Base". It is like filling their box with good deeds when they are still young. So when the time comes, when they have to lead their way on their own, they are equip with what they need to face what ever challenges in life. We will not gonna be there for them all the time but surely we are their MOMs forever.
